Abstract
PURPOSE: To enlarge an entrance for passengers and thereby to procure the safety and quickness of the getting-on-and-off of the passengers by an additional hinged door is provided near a vertical support adjacent an engraved part for a rear wheel, which works as the auxiliary door for a rear sliding door.
CONSTITUTION: The hinged door 4 which works as the auxiliary getting-on-and-off door is mounted and retained by a pair of upper and lower hinges 9 and 9' provided near the vertical support 8 of the rear part of the vehicle body. The sliding door 3 and the auxiliary door 4 are adapted to contact with each other tightly when the doors are closed. The auxiliary door 4 is driven by a motor not shown to rotate around the hinges 9 and 9'. When the auxiliary door 4 is opened, the entrance area 7 can be widened from B to B+C. Thus, a more quick and safe getting-on- and-off of the passengers can be obtained without causing any restraints in the construction.
