Abstract

PURPOSE:To determine the existing quantity of an antigen easily with good accuracy by sensitizing a mixture of immunoglobulin Facb fragments and pFc' fragments with latex particles and allowing the resultant sensitizing latex particles and the antigens in humors to react. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of immunoglobulin Facb fragments and pFc' fragments obtained by enzyme decomposition of immunoglobulin with plasmin is sensitized with latex particles of 0.1-1mum average particle sizes. Thence, the resultant sensitizing latex particles and humor sample are mixed, and the existing quantity of the anteigens is determined by such a method of deciding the degree of latex flocculation caused by the reaction of the antigens in the sample and the immunogloblin Facb fragments by naked eyes or irradiating light of 0.3-1.8mum wavelengths, and measuring the absorbancy thereof or the intensity of the scattered light. Thereby, the measurement is made without receiving the influence of RA factors or the like in spite of their existence in the samples.
