Abstract

PURPOSE: To separate an oil component from an oil-water mixture efficiently and continuously without being affected by a change of a water level or the like of water to be treated by a method wherein a concentrated oil-water mixture is taken out from a liquid to be treated containing the oil component by using a float valve to be sent to a separation tank and an oil absorbing device is rotated therein.
CONSTITUTION: A float valve 10 having a float arranged therein is floated in a pretreating tank 20 and an oil component floated from water 6 to be treated is flowed into a container of the float valve 10. The oil component 6a in this concentrated condition is transferred to a separation tank 40 to float the oil component 8a poured into a front chamber 40A thereof. In said front chamber 40A, an oil absorbing device 30 with an annular form or the like is protruded from an upper part and a lower half thereof is immersed in the oil-water mixture and rotated therein. The oil component 8A absorbed in said oil absorbing device 30 is filled in an oil storage tank 50 to further separate residual water therein and the oil component 8A scarecely containing water is taken out from an oil take-out opening 51. The precipitated water is returned to the separation tank 40. By this method, the oil-water separation can be carried out in a stable process.
