Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a small sized capable of obtaining a uniform output without unevenness by splitting an original into a plurality of sections, and also splitting a photoelectric conversion system such as light sources and lenses into the same number, and providing a light shielding plate between respective sections. CONSTITUTION:An original 5 is moved toward the vertical direction to a plane of the figure, and images 81-83 of sections 61-63 split into a plurality of the original 5 with lenses 71-73 are formed on solidstate sensors 91-93. Further, with photoelectric conversion sections 101-1-101-n-103-1-103-n every one bit, in the inverse sequence as above readout is made in matching with the inversion of images. Further, unnecessary invasion of rays is avoided by providing light shielding plates 111-114,- and making the relation of beta<=0.8 satisfy, where beta is factor of image shrinkage of the lens system. Thus, a reader in which it is of small size without output unevenness is obtained.
