Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate an operator to approach containers for feeding and discharging copying papers, by conveying a transfer paper across an exposure light path for one of photosensitive drums so as not to interrupt this path. CONSTITUTION:A transfer paper 20 is moved in such a timing as not interrupting exposure to a light passing a second lens 15B when the paper 20 crosses the exposure light path above a second photosensitive drum 14B. When the second lens 15B ends exposure in forward movement and is situated at the end of the right side, invasion of the paper 20 into the light path, even if the front end P1 of the paper 20 having finished fixing is already coming into the path, causes no trouble because the exposure has been already finished. Then the lens 15B returns in the left direction without participating the exposure, and the paper 20 crosses the path during this time.
