Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a photoconductive composition insoluble in petroleum solvent and having superior film forming properties by using a polymer having the structure of polymerized leucotriphenylmethane as a photoconductor. CONSTITUTION:On an electrically conductive support a photoconductive layer is formed contg. >=1 kinds of leucotriphenylmethane polymers represented by the formula (where R is alkyl; X is H or CH3; Z is alkylene or p-xylylene; Q is tertiary amino group; and n is 1-400) and a suitable sensitizer such as pyrylium dye or quinone by 0.005-10wt% to the amount of the dry photoconductive composition. Polycarbonate, etc. may be added as a binder besides said polymer. Said polymer has superior photoconductivity and is insoluble in petroleum solvent, yet it is soluble in dichloroethane, benzene, etc. and gives a tough film.
