Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the cam movement smoother by having the direction change of a cam follower along a cam groove make a step motion through a click mechanism formed using a plate spring.
CONSTITUTION: A plate spring 6 is pressure-contacted to a side of an extended part 4a of a rotating shaft 4 of a cam follower 2. And the side of the extended part 4a is fromed in an angulary shape with the help of the two flat surfaces 7a and 7b. When the boot-shaped cam follower 2 changes its direction along a crossing cam groove 3, when this nears the crossing point of the cam groove 3 (the drawing thereof is omitted), the side of the shaft extended part 4a comes into contact with the plate spring 6 at its peak point 7c, and then if the shaft 4 makes a slightest motion in either direction of D1 or D2, its motion is accelerated by the help of the pushing force of the plate spring 6 and keeps on moving till either of the flat surface 7a or 7b comes into a tight contact with the plate spring 6 in an instant. Accordingly, the direction turning at the cross point can be done smoothly even if the cam groove or the cam follower is worn off.
