Abstract
PURPOSE:To ensure the operation of tuning detection and to prevent the deterioration of S/N, by changing the amplification gain of the reception signal level with the output signal of a tuning detection circuit, in an AM receiver providing a tuning detection circuit. CONSTITUTION:In an automatic tuning tape AM receiver by automatic frequency sweep, if no tuning is taken and the intensity of electric field is weak, the H level signal of a tuning detection section 8 closes a gate circuit section 15, and the criterion electric field intensity can be decided with a local distance section 12, variable resistor 14, the gain of the amplifier stage of a reception section, and discrimination level of the section 8. Thus, the gain of an antenna tuning section 2 is decreased even at a strong electric field intensity, allowing to ensure the criterion of the section 8 accurately. If the input electric field intensity is greater than the apparent criterion electric field intensity, the gate 15 is opened with the L level output signal to be the frequency sweep stop signal of the section 8, the gain of the section 2 is controlled by not the resistor 14 but an AGC circuit 11, the gain of the section 2 is increased, and the S/N of the detected output to be obtained is made excellent.
