Abstract

PURPOSE:To maintain a high density and facilitate an easy control of writing for the optical recording, by forming an optical storage medium by attaching an alloy cermet film having a low fusing point onto the surface of a synthetic resin cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical substrate 1 is formed with a resin such as acrylic resin or hard vinyl chloride resin or the like that can be formed easily and discharges a gas by the application of heat. Both a low fusing point alloy composed of Bi, Pb, Sn and In and SiO2 are formed at a time on the substrate 1 to obtain a vapor deposited cermet film 2. The laser beam is condensed by a lens 4 to irradiate the film 2, and thus the irradiated area 1A is fused. Then a gas is discharged out of the substrate resin 1 to make a minute hole on the film 2. Thus a readable bit of about 1mum is formed by the surface tension. As all tracks have an equal length to maintain a high density of an optical recording and to facilitate an easy control of writing.
