Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily prepare polycarbonate grains containing little solvent and having little thermal hysteresis, by granulating polycarbonate powder by means of a dry-type compression molding machine.
CONSTITUTION: Polycarbonate powder, preferably, the one mainly consisting of bisphenol aromatic polycarbonate is granulated by a dry-type compression molding machine. The molding temperature in this dry-type compression molding is preferably from ambient temperature to 180°C and the molding pressure is preferably 2kg/cm2 or more. By using the dry-type compresion molding as a means for granulation in this way, polycarbonate grains containing little solvent and having little thermal hysteresis can be prepared easily.
