Abstract

PURPOSE:To ensure a quick measurement with no contact for the stress or the stress distribution, by obtaining the variation of temperature caused by a repetitive application of load. CONSTITUTION:The sample 4 to be tested is fixed to the vibrating machine 1 by the holding mechanisms 5 and 6, the infrared-rays sent from the sample 4 are detected by the infrared-ray detector 7, and the detected image undergoes a raster scan on the sample 4 by the horizontal scanning mirror 9 and vertical scanning mirror 10. The infrared-rays are incident to the detector 7 from the minute spot on the sample projected with the detector image and with a radiation given with an intensity corresponding to the temperature of that minute spot, and these rays are detected. The detection signal thus obtained is sent to the linealizer 12 to be converted into a temperature signal. Only an AC signal of the temperature signal is extracted through the filter 13 and sent to the synchronous rectifying circuit 14. The output of the circuit 14 is sent to the recorder 16 or memory 17. The data stored in the memory 17 is read successively to the cathode-ray tube display device 22 in the form of an image.
