Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a sintered body with superior strength and toughness by adding a little P to Al-contg. Cu alloy powder to be sintered in the form of Ni- and/or Cu-P alloy powder to accelerate sintering.
CONSTITUTION: To 94.3% Cu-Al alloy powder contg. about 6.48% Al is added 5.7% Ni- and/or Cu-P alloy powder contg. about 10% P, and they are mixed to obtain powder for a sintered Cu alloy contg. Al and having 0.05W1% P content. The mixture is molded and sintered at a high temp. in a vacuum for about 1hr. The resulting sintered body has high density, high strength and superior performance as machine or friction parts.
