Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent mismatched discharge by using a capacitor connected in series with a switch for every cylinder in an ignition device wherein a low tension plug is employed. CONSTITUTION:One of the capacitors 51-54 is provided for each of the cylinders, and by controlling the switches 41-44 by a control circuit 20, only the capacitor of the cylinder to be ignited subsequently is charged. The timing of ignition of the entire device is controlled by one thyristor. Since no large discharging current flows through the switch controlling the charge of the capacitor, the present device is excellent in terms of durability. By this constitution, mismatched ignition of the cylinder not corresponding to the timing of ignition is prevented.
