Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the chromium molybdenum steel with high corrosion and erosion resistance as well as high strength containing C, Si, Mn, Cr, Al, Mo in a predetermined ratio respectively as well as the amounts of Cr, Si, Al are defined so as to satisfy a specific formula and including the remainder of Fe.
CONSTITUTION: The chromium molybdenum steel contains 0.15% or less C, 0.1W 6.0% Si, 2.0% or less Mn, 0.5W30.0% Cr, 0.1W10.0% Al, 0.1W4.0% Mo as well as Cr, Si, Al in an amount so as to satisfy the shown formula and comprises the remainder of Fe. Said steel is constituted into a ferrite steel in order to prevent stress corrosion cracking which is a weak point of a conventional austenite stainless steel. Further, as compared to the conventional ferrite type Cr steel, the content of Si and Al is increased and the formation of a Cr protective film is stabilized. Moreover, a SiO2 film are formed to enhance erosion resistance thereof.
