Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent reverse flow of air in a feeder by opening a choking tapered section constituting a high pressure section formed at a charging port side of an air discharge pasage in a feeder body adjusting itself to the flow of air injected fast from a nozzle section of an inner cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: Air containing a solid matter is discharged fast from a nozzle section 14 of an inner cylinder 15 in the second stage feeder body 9, sucked into the body 9 through a charging port 10 with an aid of a tapered choke section 16 and fed under pressure through a discharge passage 12. Increased pressure due to a pipig resistance at the nzzle section 14 tends to reverse a part of the air flow to a low pressure section of the feeder body 9 in the preceding stage. But, there is a high pressure near the choking tapered section 16 of the preceding stage feeder body 9 due to a fast air injected from the nozzle section facing it and suction of air about the tapered section 16 thereby checking the reverse flow from any subsequent stage feeder.
