Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the increase in metallic loss and improve the yield of a billet by mounting partition plates within the oxygen ejecting parts of nozzle units.
CONSTITUTION: U0, L0, B0 and R0 as O2 supply pipes and UG, LG, BG and RG as gas supply pipes are provided so as to permit supplying of O2 and gas or the like for each of single nozzle units, and flaws are selectively and partially removed while making narrow width scarifying pilot fire parts at all times by supplying O2 and gas to each of single units for both top and under surfaces, by the signal of flaw detetction device. U07WU012, L02, B07WB012 and R02 are the O2 supply part of 20mmWW/2 (W=O2 ejecting part width for scarifying of the single nozzle units) in the O2 ejecting central part for scrifying of each nozzle unit) form narrow width scarifying pilot fire parts at all times, and are also the O2 supply parts that can contribute to scarifying in the central parts of the respective nozzle units in the flaw parts. Consequently, there is no need for providing the exclusive nozzle units for the purpose of forming the narrow width scarifying pilot fire parts at all times in the upper part of ordinary units and the device is made simple.
