Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a continuous casting nozzle which reduces contact between molten steel flow and the wall in the nozzle and prevents the clogging during casting by disposing a gas lead-in port near the surface having prescribed level difference between an upper nozzle and a lower nozzle with a bore made larger than that of said nozzle. CONSTITUTION:With this continuous casting nozzle body 1, the bore of a lower nozzle 5 is made larger by 3-30mm. than the bore of an upper nozzle 4, and this level difference surface 6 is formed to an angle theta of inclination of -60 deg.-+60 deg. with respect to the rectangular direction of a nozzle shaft. Also, a gas lead-in port 2 is provided near the surface 6. In the above-mentioned constitution, a gas such as N2 or Ar is introduced through the gas lead-in port 2 of the body 1 filled with the molten steel, whereby a gaseous layer is formed on the inside wall of the lower nozzle 5, and this prevents the molten metal from directly contacting with the inside wall. Namely, the meniscus line is maintained low by approaching this gaseous layer to the atmospheric pressure, and in the lower part of the meniscus line as well, the molten steel stagnating in the immersion part is vigorously stirred, whereby the clogging of the nozzle body 1 is prevented.
