Abstract

PURPOSE:To reinforce the connection of the bottom and the side wall of the tank, to protect cut-off plate from breaking and to prevent underground water from invading the space between those members, by burying a plurality of anchors applying pre-stress on the side wall and the bottom of said tank. CONSTITUTION:The anchor 9 is buried between the low face 3a of the side wall 3 and the horizontal end face 5a of the bottom 5. The anchor 9 is made of an anchor main-material 10, fixing metal fittings 11, spiral hoop reinforcements 13, and the like, and is prestressed when buried. In this way, the force in the direction as indicated with the B arrow is transmitted to a cylindrical sealing member 12 from supporters 13 through the anchor girder 14, by applying a predetermined prestress to the anchor main-material 10 in the direction as indicated with the A arrow. Accordingly, separation of the bottom 5 from the side wall 3 can be protected evex from earthquakes and the like as well as the weight of bottom 5 can be well supported and further the cut-off plate may be prevented from breaking together with the final effect to prevent underground water from invading.
