Abstract

PURPOSE: A gas activated with plasma is brought into contact with a plastic product under irradiation of infrared rays to improve the adhesion, printing and other properties on the surface in a short time.
CONSTITUTION: A gas is introduced from the gas-feeding system 1 into the plasma generating tube 13 and made into a plasma state with the microwaves from the microwave oscillator 8. Then, the activated gas is introduced into the reaction system 3 and brought into contact with a substrate to be treated that has been irradiated with infrared rays from the source 5 and heated only on the surface to effect the prompt reaction of the gas with the surface. Thus, the surface properties such as adhesion or printablility are improved.
