Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a liq. crystal cell evssel with superior uniformity in the cell thickness by suitably selecting the relation in particle size between fine spacer particles for the sealing wall part and fine spacer particles for the liq. crystal part. CONSTITUTION:The particle size of fine spacer particles to be dispersed in a material for forming the sealing wall of a vessel is selected to make larger than that of fine spacer particles to be stuck to the whole surface on the electrode layer side. In addition, these particles are regulated so as to make the cell thickness of the liq. crystal part in the vessel slightly smaller than that of the sealing wall part in pressurization. After removing pressure for pressing, the liq. crystal part has larger restoring force, and the restoration of the sealing wall part is restricted moderately, so a vessel having a uniform cell thickness for a liq. crystal display element is obtd.
