Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a generator having small size and good cooling property by mounting cooling fans at both ends of a pawl type pole core and disposing a brush holder and a regulator in the manner not to superpose with a rectifier at the opposite side end a pulley. CONSTITUTION:Cooling fans 8, 8' are mounted at both ends of the pawl type pole cores 6, 6' of a rotor. A slip ring 9 is mounted on the end of the shaft opposite to the pulley 11 for connecting an engine, and a brush holder 16 for supplying an exciting current to the coil 7 of the rotor is provided. A semiconductor regulator 17 is provided on the same plane as the plane vertical with the brush holder 16 and the rotor shaft 5, and a rectifier 15 having a pair of horseshoe type fins is so disposed to confront the brush holder 16 and to surround the rotor shaft 5. Thus, the axial size can be particularly shortened, and the cooling can be preferably conducted.
