PURPOSE:To stabilize scanning of an imaging system optical element by providing transmission wheels to shield drums which wind a pair of shield curtains mounted at one end to the optical element, and turning these transmission wheels by means of a wrapping member partly fixed to the imaging element. CONSTITUTION:A lens holder 9 supporting a lens 8 is scanned in the arrow A direction synchronously with original images by a driving control device 13 while being guided by guide shafts 11, 12. Shield curtains 19, 20 are fixed respectively at one end to the lens holder 9 and are fixed at the other end to shield drums 21, 22. Belt wheels 25, 26 are fixed to the shield drums at one end, and a timing belt 27 fixed at one end to the lens holder 9 is put thereon. When the lens holder 9 is scanned and driven, the timing belt begins to move, and the belt wheels and shield drums synchronously revolve counterclockwise.
