Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve corrosion resistance by coating a substrate, having a mirror surface, with a metallic magnetic medium and then by produding a metal oxide by irradiating the said medium or the surface of another metal, applied onto it, with laser light. CONSTITUTION:Ferromagnetic metallic layer 3, provided on base body 1 with substrate layer 2 interposed, is irradiated with layer light 6 to convert the surface into a metal oxide. In another way, a metal oxide layer may be formed by irradiating a metal, provided on the ferromagnetic metallic layer, with laser light. As the metal applied onto the surface to produce the metal oxide, Co, Ni, Fe, Cr, Al, Cu, Zr, Ti, Ag, Ni-P, Co-Ni-P, Co-Cr, Co-B, Ni-Sn-P, Ni-W, or Ni-B, or their alloy may be used. Thus, the corrosion resistance can be improved.
