Abstract

PURPOSE: To control instruction execution operations of a central processing unit by modifying information, by providing a register which holds various information input to the central processing unit from miscellaneous equipments and by giving instructions for debugging and so on to the central processing unit from miscellaneous equipments.
CONSTITUTION: Normally, operations are executed in the CPU on a basis of instructions read from main storage device MS; and for debugging and so on, instructions are received from service processor SVP, and designated operations are executed in the CPU. This CPU is provided with address register 1, instruction register 2, modifying information holding register 3, and data register 4 which hold address information, instructions, modifying information, and data information from the SVP respectively, and further, modifying information analysis control part 13 is provided which controls internal circuits such as operand register 9, operating part 7 and condition code register 19 in the CPU on a basis of modifying information of register 3. Then, operation conditions of the CPU are changed on a basis of addresses, instructions, and data information by control part 13 and are supplied to memory control part 5.
