Abstract

PURPOSE: To suppress the abnormal vibration of a slide valve, by integrally adding an auxiliary valve to the side of the slide valve opposite to its discharge side to lengthen the supported portion of the slide valve.
CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary valve 20 is provided on the side of a slide valve 4 opposite its discharge side and has the same diameter as the slide valve 4. The axial length of the auxiliary valve 20 is varied depending on the running condition of a screw compressor so that the length is large for a high pressure ratio or for a rotor of large length. Even if the slide valve 4 is protruded, the auxiliary valve 20 has a supported portion of necessary and enough length. This results in suppressing the abnormal vibration of the slide valve 4.
