Abstract
PURPOSE: To eliminate the necessity for using a conventional gasket or end plate in an air cleaner and simplify its light weight construction, by forming an oxidized film of polypropylene resin in the sealed parts of a cap and case consisting of the polypropylene resin and glueing end parts of a filter body to said sealed parts.
CONSTITUTION: A cap 1 is formed by integrally providing a ring-shaped sealing part 1b by two ring-shaped protrusive parts 1a separately arranged from each other, while a case 2 is formed by integrally providing a sealed part 2a annularly recessed to the bottom part of the case 2, and the both of these cap and case are all formed by using polypropylene resin. The sealed parts 1b, 2a are formed to an oxidized film of polypropylene resin on their surface by instantaneously contacting, for instance, high temperature oxidizing flame of burnt gas. Under this condition, the sealed parts 1b, 2a are filled with an adhesive agent 10 of urethane or epoxy resin system, then both ends of a filter body 6 are air-tightly glued to the sealed parts 1b, 1a through the adhesive agent 10, thus an air-cleaner is completed.
