Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable sufficient transfer efficiency and separating performance to be obtained in all environments by detecting the electric resistance of the transfer material at the feeding of transfer material and controlling the inputting to transfer charging according to this.
CONSTITUTION: A means of detecting electric resistance of transfer paper before or during feeding of the transfer paper is provided. This detecting means is constituted by, for example, two conductive rubber rollers 11 and these rollers contact transfer paper at all times; in addition, a fixed voltage is applied between these rollers and the electric current flowing through the surface of the transfer material is detected by a detecting circuit 12, the output thereof is applied to a control circuit 13. The electric current value to a transfer charger 6 is controlled by the high voltage output 14 of this control circuit 13. Thereby, sufficient transfer efficiency and separating performance may be obtained under all environments.
