Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled device of the convection type used in a rotating condition with a high performance by a method wherein a working fluid is sealed in a double-wall pipe comprising an inner pipe both ends of which are opened in an outer pipe, and the fluid is forcibly circulated in reversed spiral passages which are provided in the inner pipe and between the pipes, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: When the device 1 is rotated, the working fluid in the space between the outer pipe 2 and the inner pipe 5 is progressively fed to an end plate 3 on one side by a spiral member 4, then it flows into the inner pipe 5 through a gap 6 and an inflow port 5a, is pushed toward the other end by a spiral member 7 and is returned into the space between the pipes 2, 5. Therefore, when one end of the device 1 is placed at a heating source and the other is placed at a cooling source, heat transfer by the convection of the fluid occurs so that heat is conveyed. Accordingly, since the heat transfer is accomplished by other means than boiling and condensation, the heat transfer is not affected by noncondensing gases and a heat transfer device having a high heat-transferring performance can be obtained.
