Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the formation of defects such as stickers in a mold by using a blow nozzle of a specific shape to a molding machine of cold box type mold. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle 1 made of a flexible material is mounted to a blow plate 10 of a cold box type mold molding machine using wet sand by means of a nozzle holder 2 made of steel. A baffle bar 3 provided with a circular conical baffle part 4 at the tip at the axial center in the central part of the nozzle 1 is fitted and fixed by means of a baffle bar root part 5 to the nozzle holder 2. At the time when the wet sand blown through the hollow part formed by the baffle bar 3 in the nozzle 1 from the sand box is ejected into the metal mold cavity from the end part of the nozzle 1, it is ejected in a diagonal direction by the slope of the circular conical baffle part 4. Hence, the angle of injection spreads to a wide range of 360 deg. and this prevents the wet sand from vigorously colliding against only the specified place of the inside surface of the die and peeling the mold releasing powder, thereby preventing the formation of stickers in that part.
