Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an emulsion having high stability and strong adsorptivity for org. and inorg. materials, by using an aqueous vinyl ester type resin contg. specific cationic groups as an emulsifying and dispersion stabilizing agent.
CONSTITUTION: A water soluble vinyl ester tupe resin contg. ≥1 kinds of the cations expressed by the formulas I, II, III (in the formulas, R1, alkylene, etc. R2, R5; hydrogen or alkyl, R3, R4; alkyl, X; inorg. or org. anion, A; amide nitrogen or oxygen) is prepd. This resin is dropped at a suitable amount to an emulsifier added to water, and these are subjected to heating, agitating, etc. This stabilizer is used usuablly at about 0.5W7wt% of the entire part of an emulsification polymerization reaction system. The emulsion obtained by the use of this stabilizer is superior in mechanical stability, preservation stability, and freeze stability and is also superior in fixability to org. materials such as pulp and inorg. materials.
