Abstract
PURPOSE: To bring an ink supplementing amount to a plate cylinder upon resuming printing close to the amount as that of the usual printing by a method wherein a group of rollers in the flow path of the ink from an ink fountain roller to forming rollers is divided into a plurality of small groups of rollers.
CONSTITUTION: The group of rollers from the ink fountain roller 6 at the upstream end thereof to the forming rollers 13, 14, 15 at the downstream end thereof is divided into three sets of small groups 22, 23, 24 of the rollers. When the printing is finished, a rubber blanket cylinder 2 is tripped under being cooperated with this action and the forming rollers 13, 14, 15 are separated from the plate cylinder 1 while mixing rollers 26, 28 are separated from a swing roller 9. When the printing press is operated under this condition before resuming the printing, the film of the ink is unified in each small group 22, 23, 24 of the rollers and the thickness of the film becomes stepwise. When the printing is resumed under this condition, the printing may be reopened under supplying the ink onto the plate cylinder 1 continuously under the same condition substantially as that before stopping the printing.
