Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure easily and swiftly whether there is an antibody of the antigen or not, by preparing two kinds of samples by use of both the cell to be tested; one has been treated by adding the antigen, and the other has not been treated yet, and subsequently deriving the cataphoretic speed distribution of a mixture of said samples. CONSTITUTION:For instance, at the time of a medical examination of some kind of cancer, the cell to be tested (lymphocyte) is divided into two groups, an antigen is added to one group, and the other remains untreated. Subsequently, a macrophage of a guinea pig (or red blood corpuscle of sheep, which has been treated with tannin) is added to a supernatant liquid which has been obtained by means of centrifugal separation of said respective groups, they are made to react, and after that, the macrophage is partially taken, and the cataphoresis is measured by mixing both macrophages. Subsequently, in case when a distribution curve of the cataphoretic speed which has been obtained is of a single peak, it is regarded as normal, and if it is of a twin-peak, it is decided to abnormal (there is a doubt of cancer).
