Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the photoscattering intensity exclusively caused by fibrin separation selectively and quickly with high sensitivity, even for the body to be inspected with high turbidity, by radiating laser light to the fibrin separated in the liquid to be tested with blood coagulation and detecting the change in the intensity of photoscattering with a given angle. CONSTITUTION:In the inspection of abnormal blood coagulation such as hemophilia, a given amount of laser light flux is radiated in the reaction cubet 2 in which the mixed liquid 4 with reagnent and blood or blood plasma to be inspected is put, from the laser light source (helium neon laser in 632.8nm) 1. The measurement is done for the intensity of light scattering from the cubet 2 in the range of angle theta of 30-60 deg. between the laser light axis through the center of the cubet 2 and the photodetector 3, and the output converted into an electric signal is operated with the amplifier 5, A/D converter 6 and computer 7 to discriminate the coagulation time point and to display the data on the printer 8. Thus, the change in the photoscattering intensity only is selectively detected independently of the turbidity due to other causes, allowing quick and accurate automatic measurement.
