Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent any local temperature rise of a luminous screen which might be caused by electron ray irradiation, and thereby prevent any reduction of the luminous efficacy of a cathoderay tube, by employing as the luminous screen a red-color emitting rare earth fluorescent-body porcelain activated with europium. CONSTITUTION:Fluorescent bodies 2 are fitted in a vacuum case 1 by use the springs 5, before aluminum films 3 and an electron gun 4 are installed in the case 1, thus a cathoderay tube being constituted. As the fluorescent body 2, a red-color emitting rare earth fluorescent-body porcelain activated with europium is employed. When fast electrons are discharged from the electron gun 4 toward the porcelain fluorescent-body 2 in a shower form, the body 2 emits red light having a luminous peak at 613mm..
