A reproduction signal by quick feed of a tape halts for a prescribed period, or there is no queue signal for a prescribed period from the beginning, and when the output of the amplifier 47 becomes L, a pulse from the pulse generator 41 is counted through the counter 48. When the output Q of the counter 48 becomes H, the tape is rewound, and the signal is reproduced by the head 6. And, in the reproduction state, the output of the timer 42 becomes H when a prescribed time has passed, the sound recording system 44 becomes an operating state, and at the same time the electromagnetic plunger 13 is deenergized and becomes a recording pause.
