Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the distribution ratio of light to be changed arbitrarily and enable light to be coupled in both directions by combining plural thick film lenses of widths differing on input side and output side respectively for the light propagated from an optical fiber and connecting optical fibers to the focal positions of the respective thick film lenses. CONSTITUTION:Light 12 inputted from an optical fiber 5 is converted to parallel beams which are next distributed to beams 13, 14 according to the widths of the next thick film lenses 3, 4. These beams are outputted to optical fibers 6, 7. Conversely, the beams 13, 14 inputted from the fibers 6, 7 are all condensed at the fiber 5. All these fibers 5, 6, 7 and lenses 2, 3, 4 are fitted and fixed in a frame 8 formed on the surface of a substrate 1. The substrate 1 is disposed after the 1st clad layer 9 is formed, thence a core layer 10 is formed and the entire part is coated with the 2nd clad layer 11. In this way, the distributor of good efficiency is easily obtained.
