Abstract
PURPOSE:To jet ink droplets at high speed as well as intermittently by a method wherein every time a piezoelectric vibrator deflectively vibrates, the ink jetting port is opened by the tip end part of a rod-shaped member so as to jet ink as a droplet. CONSTITUTION:When a signal voltage is applied to a piezoelectric vibrator 8, it is deflected outwardly. In response to the deflection of the piezoelectric vibrator 8, a metallic plate 7 is also deflected pulling a needle 4 in the direction of an arrow A. Thereupon, the tip end of the needle 4 is separated from a nozzle orifice 3, forming a gap, so that from an ink chamber 2, ink instantaneously starts to jet out through said gap from the nozzle orifice 3. Then, when no more signal voltage is applied to the piezoelectric vibrator 8, it and the metallic plate 7 are restored to their original state. Thereby, the needle 4 closes the nozzle orifice 3 again. Accordingly, the ink having started to jet out from the orifice 3 is cut off as an ink droplet 11 and flies at high speed.
