Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively utilize cargo spaces on decks when a cargo lifter for transfer between the decks is stowed away, by using a plurality of series-connected cylinders to directly drive the body of the lifter to move it up and down.
CONSTITUTION: Two piston cylinders are connected in series with each other and housed with a fitting section 12a in a cylindrical guide 15b so that the cylinders serve as means for moving up and down a cargo lifter 12 for transfer between an upper deck 10 and a lower deck 11. To move the cargo lifter 12 from the lower deck 11 to the upper one 10, both the piston cylinders are sequentially moved out, the cylindrical guide 15b is located on the upper deck 10 and halted by a stopper 16 and the piston cylinders are sequentially retracted. As a result, the lifter is placed on the upper deck. Since the piston cylinders as the means for moving up and down are connected in series with each other, cargo spaces on the decks can be effectively utilized.
