Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a stable fixing device free from jam and soiling by release liquid by forming a separating pawl which separates a toner image carrying body from a fixing roller, with a specified material. CONSTITUTION:The toner image T of transfer paper P is fixed by a fixing roller 1 coated with release oil and a press-roller 4 without offsetting on the roller 1, and is separated from the roller 1 by a separating pawl 16 abutting on the roller 1. This pawl 16 is formed on a member made by baking and coating a mixture of a fluorine resin and other resin on a base material of a hard heat-resistant resin so that the intensity of the fluororesin of good release characteristic is fortified by the base material. Therefore, the deformation and the like do not occur at the tip of the pawl 16 despite long-term use, and the stable fixing device free from jam and soiling by release liquid is provided.
