Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a composition having corrosion preventing performance over a long term by using a component, as the base, consisting of a benzoic acid deriv., phosphoric acid and mercaptobenzothiazole in a specified ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A composition obtd. by mixing the following compounds is used as the base: 10W100pts.wt. at least one of benzoic acid derivs. and their salts represented by the formula, 1W50pts.wt. at least one of phosphoric acid and its salts and 0.2W20pts.wt. at least one of mercaptobenzothiazole, its salts, benzotriazole, its salts, tolyltriazole and its salts. This composition may be added to water as it is, yet it is preferably added to antifreezing agent-contg. water by about 10W40wt% to prepare a chemical agent. When this composition is used, the pH of a soln. contg. the composition is preferably adjusted to about 6.5W9.0, and the concn. of the composition in water to 500W50,000ppm.
