Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to execute the input/output operation by automatically switching the channel device in failure, by providing the means storing the failure of channel every channel device and the means switching the channel number in failure to the channel number without failure. CONSTITUTION:The channel controller (CHC) 20 is provided with FFs 23, 24 respectively storing the channels A1, B2 in failure, channel number switching circuits 28, 29 switching the channel number in failure designated with the program (PR) 19 to the channel number without failure, register 21 sotring the instruction from PR 19, and decoder 25. Further, the input/output trunks IOTs 3, 4 which are connected to the channels A, B and can select the connection with other channels, are provided. If a failure is taken place to the channel A1 while the channel A1 is in input/output operation with IO32 via IOT3 through the instruction of PR19, CHC20 sets FF23 and switches the circuit 29 to the channel B2, allowing to switch IOT3 to the channel B2 to execute the input/output operation of IO32.
