Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to form a large size caisson making use of existing yard, by making it partially in a size for which existing yard can be made use of and connecting each partially assembled part to form a caisson of a desired size on the sea.
CONSTITUTION: When a large size floating caisson is to be formed using the first and second caisson blocks 1, 2, U shaped female and male joint protruded parts are to be formed to either side of at least one outer surface of square boxlike block main body 3, 6 of each block 1, 2 with upper surface opened. At the time the male protrusion 7 is to be smaller than the female protrusion 4 so that it is fitted to the protrusion 4. These blocks 1, 2 are floated on the sea to be transported to a desired site, where each block 1, 2 are joined by rubber gaskets 5, 8 water-tightly and connected by joints 12.... Thereafter concrete is applied to the connecting chamber to complete the formation.
