Abstract
PURPOSE:To limit the jitter in the main scanning direction that is caused in a recorded picture by a shift of phase between the sensor output and the picture lement clock, by sending the picture element clock to a delay element and delaying the frequency of the clock by 1/n. CONSTITUTION:The output of an oscillator 13 of the picture element clock (frequency fO) is sent to the delay line element 14 having (n) taps, and the phase of the picture element clock is delayed by 1/n. Then the tap output having the phase matching with the detection output of an optical sensor is selected properly by the switch circuit SW that works in accordance with the sensor output. This selected tap output is used for the new picture element clock, and the writing timing of a picture is secured after counting several picture element clocks. In other words, the frequency of the picture element clock is delayed successively by 1/n with use of the delay element 14 in order to secure the cyclic timing with the sensor output. Thus the jitter of the main scanning direction and caused in a recorded picture can be reduced down to one picture element/n.
