Abstract

PURPOSE:To make two pieces of molds simultaneously by packing molding sand into the tightly closed space provided by fitting a pair of molding chambers having a square box shape, which are opened at the front and are provided opposedly on the right and left, to a vertical pattern plate, and compressing and squeezing said sand. CONSTITUTION:A vertical pattern plate 8 is advanced to the center of molding chambers 1, and squeeze cylinders 4 are operated to align the supply ports 2 for molding sand on the right and left molding chambers 1 to blow holes 11 and fit the chambers 1 to the pattern parts 8a of the plate 8, whereby the tightly closed chambers are formed in the chambers 1. Thence, compressed air is fed into a blow head 10 to pack molding sand 19 into the chambers 1. Here, the squeeze cylinders 4 are operated to advance the chambers 1, thereby pressing the sand 19 between pattern plates 7 and the plate 8 and forming molds 18. This time, the squeeze cylinders 4 are operated reverse to return the chambers 1 built in with the molds 18 to the home position, thence the plate 8 is retreated backward.
