Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce the magnetic head of a narrow track width superior in recording and reproducing characteristics by the thin film forming technique. CONSTITUTION:Plural first notches 12 are provided at one edge part in the longitudinal direction of magnetic substance block 11 of a high magnetic permeability such as sendust, and nonmagnetic substance 13 is charged in these notches 12, and the excess nonmagnetic substance material is removed by grinding to form nonmagnetic substance charged parts 17. The second notches 14 are provided closely to these parts 17 so that parts 17 are removed partially. Metallic films 20 consisting of magentic substance having a high saturation magnetic flux density which constitutes a track width part are formed on the inside wall of notches 14 by sputtering. Then, the second nonmagnetic substance 21 is charged in notches 14, and the undesired magnetic substance film caused to adhere to the gap forming face side is removed by grinding, and groove 22 for the winding window is provided, and the gap forming face is polished, and the gap part material is caused to adhere to it, and a pair of core blocks 11 are so joined that end faces of respective said metallic films 20, 20 are butted to each other, and then, they are so cut that a required nonmagnetic substance charged part is left in both sides of the track corresponding part of the magnetic substance film.
