Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of a measuring error of the snow coverage by arranging a plurality of photoelectric elements which face light receiving surfaces thereof downward at a certain spacing respectively in a line vertically inside a long transparent tube standing on the ground. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of light receiving surfaces m of the photoelectric elements M are arranged facing to the downward in a line vertically. A dopting the output of the uppermost photoelectric element R as a standard output in a comparator 4, said output is compared with each output of each photoelectric element positioned downward in order. Thus, the depth of snow is measured by judging the existence of snow coverage.
