Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous probe under the adverse effect of a reflective wave on an electromagnetic iron core by providing a means to prevent the generation of an eddy current so that an eddy current may not be generated, on the magnetic pole of an electric magnet where a transmitting/reception coil is installed. CONSTITUTION:Plural radial grooves 12 are provided on the transmitting/reception coil 5 mounting face of a central leg 10 for an electric magnet iron core 3. When an injury is probed, a DC coil 2 is excited by a DC power supply and a pulse current is applied to an ultrasonic transmitting/reception coil 5 under a state where a DC magnetic field is aplied onto a material to be tested 1. At that time, if an eddy current tended to occur at the central lower face of a DC electric magnet iron core 3, it is prevented by means of a groove 12. Because of the nongeneration of an eddy current, an ultrasonic wave does not spread in the electric magnet iron core 3. Therefore, the transmitting/reception coil 5 does not receive a reflective wave on the electric magnet iron core 3. Thus a reflective wave on the iron core dissipates, so that a defective wave F can be detected definitely.
