Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled compound in high yield economically through a method hardly causing side reactions, by reacting carboxylic acid amide of azole with a secondary amine in the presence of a catalytic amount of a hydrogen halide compoment.
CONSTITUTION: A compound shown by the formula I (R1 and R2 are hydrocarbon which may be substituted and may form a saturated ring; A1 and A2 are N or CH; Y is O or S) is reacted with a compound shown by the formula II (R3 and R4 are R1 or R2) to give a tetra-substituted urea derivative shown by the formula III. The reaction is carried out in the presence of a hydrogen halide (preferably a hydrogen halide salt of pyridine base) as a catalyst. Its amount is 1W0.01mol, preferably 1W0.1mol based on the compound shown by the formula II. Since side reactions scarcely occur, aftertreatment is done with ease. Azole prepared as a by- product can be reused for the synthesis of the compound shown by the formula I.
