Abstract
PURPOSE:To radiate the full energy of transmitting and receiving waves, by connecting a 90 deg. polarized wave transducer equipped with a rotary flange, to the input and output terminals of the elliptical opening horn, and connecting a circular-rectangular converting waveguide to the other end of the transducer through the rotary flange. CONSTITUTION:In case when a wave coming into the input face I2 of the primary radiator is a circular polarized wave, the wave passing through the elliptical horn 10 is input to the polarized wave transducer 12 as an elliptical polarized wave since the phase difference is caused between the X2 axis and the Y2 axis of this horn 10. In this case, if the phase-shifting amont of the transducer 12 is about 90 deg.; irrespective of the circular polarized wave factor of an elliptical polarized wave which is input, when the transducer 12 is being rotated, an angle becoming a linear polarized wave at the place of the rotary flange 13 is made. When the circular-rectangular converting waveguide 14 is rotated through the rotary flange 13, there is no loss caused by mismatching of a wave, and all the full-wave energy can be output to the output terminal 02. On the other hand, in case when a wave coming in is a linear polarized wave, it is converted to an elliptical polarized wave and is input to the trasducer 12, therefore there is no less caused by mismatching of a wave, and the adjustment for outputting to the output terminal 02 becomes possible by all the same operation.
