Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the start-up performance of the engine at low temperature by constituting an air supply passage to a carburetor with main and auxiliary air passage and providing a control valve on the auxiliary passage which opens after predetermined period after suction negative pressure is generated.
CONSTITUTION: A start-up carburetor 12 contains in its 14 a plunger 16 passed upward by a spring 18, and said plunger 16 is pressed down ward when the suction negative pressure in a suction passage 28 is introduced into a negative pressure chamber 20 through a start-up negative pressure introducition valve 36 and the first temperature sensing open/close valve 40. The second temperature sensing open/close valve 48 is provided adjacent to the first temperature sensing open/close valve 40 to open and close a by-pass passage between the negative pressure chamber 20 and the suction passage 28. In addition to a main air passage 22 which opens to a body 14, an auxiliary air passage 52 having the third temperature sensing valve 62 is provided and an auxiliary air passage control valve 60 is installed therein, said valve 60 being controlled by the negative pressure introduced via a negative pressure passages 34 and 50 and a delaying valve 40.
